Code Cutter
This great app still in development (as of Jan 2010) will have a large effect on theme possibiliies in RapidWeaver. User customization and code snippets from theme developers will add options without the addition of extra file calls!
We have built custom RapidWeaver themes for a number of our clients, and we have also made many custom edits too. RapidWeaver themes enable users to create a professional look in an incredibly short time, and adding more pages later to match the site is an easy job. With layout possibilities being added to in more recent times by the addition of Extra Content to many themes, the variation possible is increasing.
This free theme is for those wishing to generate a sleek looking site, with split navigation available. There will be a Pro version of the theme soon with extra content areas and more options. Please click the image to download your copy.
With this in mind, the other increasing issue with themes is the limit in Internet Explorer of 32 style tag areas and external sheet and script calls. With the advent of many Stacks add ons that increase the number of these, the need for themes that don't run close to the limit initially is increasing.
The downside of this is the limitation of style options. We have acouple of themes in the works with these things in mind. Careful thought is necessary to make the most of this.
We are looking to finish this theme shortly that we got to a useable position last summer, but weren't quite happy with a few details. These are being ironed out now and we will be ready to release this theme into the wild in the next week or two. It should suit those looking for a minimalist feel but still having control. The Extra Content areas will be useful to those wishing to add more detail and information around pages like the Contact Form page.

All this means a big future for those using RapidWeaver, and that's not even including the treats Realmac have in store for us over the next year or 2!
